February "Free" Events and Activities

Planning a February vacation? Let us help during the planning stage with these fun free things to do in Colorado. We haven't yet been afforded an opportunity to take a February Colorado vacation as Danielle is still in school but we wanted to share what we know.

Some of these activities can be attended during other months throughout the year. As a family, we sat down and researched things to do in Colorado during the month of February. Here are the activities we came up with. These activities are ideal for a Winter family vacation and ones we look forward to attending once Danielle graduates.

Winter Carnival

Steamboat Springs, Colorado

When: February 3-7, 2010

The Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival is a huge annual community event held in town. Expect tons of snow, plenty of competitions and huge family fun. Watch as competitors try to hold on as they get pulled around the street by dogs, dads and horses. Most competitions are opened to kids as young as 6 years of age.
