Silverton Colorado
The Storybook City
The old Mining Town of Silverton Colorado is my #1 favorite Colorado city to visit. I like to think of it as the picture perfect dollhouse community straight out of a storybook.
It sits in a valley, completely surrounded by the San Juan Mountains. The view of the city as your coming into town is absolutely stunning.

I've visited this special little city three times over the years. I look forward to going back every time. The beautiful views, numerous events/activities and the preserved history makes this a great family friendly city.There is more than plenty here to keep you and your family busy for a day or an entire week. The Wild Wild West
Watch as the gunfighters of the west have a showdown in the street. You can see this staged event every night Thursday through Saturday at 5:30pm. Located on 13th between Cement Street and Blair Street.
This show is free to the public and sponsored by the Silverton Colorado Gunfighters Association.
Durango Silverton Railroad

Ride the Durango Silverton Train - the train operates into Silverton from early May until late October. This is a long ride (all day activity) and well worth the trip.
Kendall Mountain
This 35 acre family ski resort offers cross country skiing, sledding, ice skating and snowshoeing. Kendall Mountain is the best family ski resort for learning how to ski or just spending the day on the snow.
