Lake George Colorado

Lake George Colorado has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Located just 20 miles West of Woodland Park on US Highway 24, this small town offers access to more than just a lake. You'll find plenty of reservoirs, rivers and the Eleven Mile Canyon.





Lake George is one of those great places to visit as a day trip while your in the Pikes Peak Region.

You and the family will find some of the most enjoyable outdoor family activities in this area. Some of the more popular things to do are fishing, hiking, biking, camping and driving some of the most scenic countryside around.





Here are some great spots we found for family fun.

Eleven Mile Canyon

We highly recommend the captivation drive into Eleven Mile Canyon. This was one of the best drives we had during our last vacation. The mountain and river views are phenomenal. The weather for August was absolutely perfect.

The entire length of the river through the park is surrounded by huge Granite Rock and Boulders. Most of the River is considered Class 3 - Class V+ Rapids.	There were several tight spaces along the road through Eleven Mile Canyon. You'll find several places that only allow for one way traffic.	We stopped at Riverside Park to let the dogs play in the cold river. Emily our lab-mix was all for it. Kodi the German Shepherd opted to stay shoreside for most of the trip.
