Colorado Kid Friendly Vacations

Great kid friendly vacations to Colorado can be fun and easy to plan. If you have kids and love to travel, here are some great ideas on kid friendly attractions and activities to get you started.

These are the Colorado tourist attractions that will most appeal to your school age kids and you. Our daughter Danielle is now a teenager. She and I both have enjoyed most of these activities as kids.

Elitch Gardens

The kids are sure to have a blast at this combination theme park/water park. This Colorado attraction will have them easily entertained for an entire day!

Grab more information on hours, admission and discounts to the Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado.

Working Produce Farms

This is truly a unique activity that the entire family can enjoy. The kids seem to take pride in eating something they've hand picked themselves. Be sure to go early in the season when produce is abundant and before the fields are picked over.

Butterfly Pavillion

There's that special beauty and gracefulness about butterflies that attracts us and our children. One of the most tranquil places to see thousands upon thousands of these special creatures is at the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, Colorado.

Children's Museums

Museums are great avenues for learning. What better way to teach your young kids than with these Children's Museums.

Railroad Museum
Great Sand Dunes National Park

For huge year round fun head to the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Alamosa. If have a pet in the family bring them along as well, this is one of the few National Parks that welcome them.

Zoos

Wild Animal Sanctuary's

Tiny Town

Dinosaur Resource Center

Firefighters Museum

Ice Skating
I have to admit I'm not as graceful on skates as I am in tennis shoes but kids love this stuff!

Banjo Billy's Bus Tour

Botanic Gardens

Aquarium
If you've ever sat even for a few minutes watching fish in a tank or pond you know how mesmerizing it can be. Take that same experience and blow it up life sized and you have the makings for a mesmerizing experience for the kids as well.

Enjoy this life size Downtown Aquarium in Denver where the entire family can learn about the underwater world and more.

Trolly Rides
Let's face it....scenic drives are for us parents but a Trolley Ride through town is huge fund for the kids.

Dinosaur Ridge

Amazin Mazes
A great place for letting kids be kids.

Denver Art Museum

Gondola Rides

Museum of Nature and Science

Glenwood Caverns
Dig out the explorer in your child.

Dog Sleigh Rides

Mine Tours

Scenic Train Rides
Scenic train rides are a great way to get out and enjoy the beauty of the Centennial State. We all know that too long of a train ride = boredom for small kids. The great things about these trains is that they offer specialty packages designed to keep the attention of smaller children.

Hot Springs Pools

Bike Trails
Whether you plan to tote your own or rent one, this is one activity that's great to do in Colorado! This is one Colorado activity without age limits. Don't already have a bike? Let us show you where you can rent a bike.

Waterfalls
Just the sights and sounds alone from these beautiful waterfalls is enough to attract any kid. Most of these waterfalls will allow the family an opportunity to enjoy a hike, picnic lunch or cool splash during a hot summer day. It's definitely worth a day trip.

Planetarium

Melodramas
