Four Corners Region

Four Corners is not actually a city in Colorado but a region. This region is the point where Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona meet to form four (4) corners.

Included here in this area you will find the cities of Mancos, Cortez and Dolores. These are the Colorado cities closest to the region that we felt were interesting to visit.

Mancos

Some of the best outdoor things to do in Colorado can be found right here in Mancos. Mancos is all about exploring the back country, reliving the Old West lifestyle and discovering the lands of the Ancient Puebloan and Ute Indians.

Mancos is located just 5 miles east of Mesa Verde and 40 miles from the 4 Corners National Monument Click here for more detailed information on Mancos Colorado

Mesa Verde National Monument

Mesa Verde is one of the biggest attractions in the Region. Stop by Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum. Hike numerous trails including Petroglyph Trail and Mesa Top Loop.

Spruce Tree House

While on your hike, stop by the third largest cliff dwelling, Spruce Tree House. The house has over 100 rooms, 8 kivas and housed more than 50 people.

Dolores

Visit the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and Anazi Heritage Center. Both of these will give your family a good grasp on the History and Heritage of the Southwest.

Dolores is located just 20 minutes from the Famous Mesa Verde National Monument

While visiting the area, stop by Hovenweep just outside of Cortez. It provides some truly spectacular and "gotta see it to believe it" scenery.

Four Corners National Monument

The 4 Corners National Monument is located on the Navajo Indian Reservation out in the middle of nowhere. They have a very small Visitor Center that is open year round where you can purchase Native American gifts. Four Corners Region to Colorado Vacation Home
