Durango Railroad Station Travel Journal
December 29, 2008
Durango Railroad Station 479 Main Avenue
It had been years and years since I had been to Durango or ridden the Durango Silverton railroad. This was Jimmy and Danielle's first time and I was excited about sharing the experience with them. We decided as a family to go for the all inclusive train ride with snowmobile tour.
Get Your Boarding Passes
We arrived at the railroad station about an hour early to get our boarding passes, find out more information about the snowmobile excursion and look around.
The Depot is rather small compared to the number of passengers for the train. You will find yourself easily standing shoulder to shoulder with your fellow travelers.
Inside the Depot is a small gift shop filled with all sorts of unique gifts and train souvenirs. Danielle found a nice bookmark, postcard and history book she just had to have. I found a thimble perfect for my collection. Jimmy saw several sweatshirts he really liked but opted to wait.
After we got our boarding passes and shopped inside the depot, we still had a little time to kill. We went back out for some window shopping just outside the depot. We found several nice pieces of jewelry and turquoise accessories at a nearby shop.
All Aboard!!

Boarding went rather quickly as passenger cars and seating were assigned. Before getting on the train we had an opportunity to take a few photos
